This might be a generalization, but Iowans are serious about politics. The ones who care a whit about politics like to look a presidential candidate (or a half-dozen) in the eye, shake his (or her) hand, and carefully deliberate before making a decision about which one deserves their support. They’re not at all ashamed to say they’re undecided. On Saturday, thousands of Iowans will show up in Ames to vote in the Straw Poll. Sure, it technically doesn’t mean anything, but it’ll likely make or break a campaign or two. This is our homage to Iowan voters.
