Mentoring and Journalist Training
Continuing our commitment to community building and our belief in the importance of unregulated and objective information to the development of democratic societies, Prime’s journalist training program aims to expand visual storytelling skills and connect local voices to global audiences.
San José Foto 2016
In April 2016, Prime Collective will partner with San José Foto, an emerging photography festival in San José de Mayo, Uruguay. Photographers from Prime will lead a one-day Project Development and Funding Lab workshop for 15 local photographers, as well as participate in portfolio reviews and lead a panel discussion on business practices for documentary photographers.
Oso Bay Biennial 2014
In March 2014, Prime Collective partnered with Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi on the Oso Bay Biennial XVIII. In addition to hosting a three-day workshop for photography students from Texas and around the country, Prime photographers exhibited their own work for local residents and sponsored a juried exhibition which drew submissions on the theme of “home”.
